1. Scope
This Policy applies to Linko eSIM account deletion and associated personal-data deletion and should be read with the Privacy Policy.
2. In-App Deletion
If the app permits account creation, it must provide a clear and readily discoverable way to initiate deletion, such as Profile / Account Settings / Delete Account. Deletion applies to the full account and associated personal data for which no continuing lawful retention basis exists. Deactivation, freezing or hiding the account does not qualify as deletion.
3. Google Play External Web Resource
Where the Google Play version supports account creation, Linko eSIM also provides an external deletion-request resource at https://linkoesim.com/delete-account.html that can be used without reinstalling the app, and the URL will be supplied in Play Console. The page must allow the user to directly initiate a deletion request rather than merely describe deletion in unrelated content.
4. Identity Verification
We may require re-authentication, confirmation of the registered email, an email OTP, or another risk-appropriate method to prevent unauthorized deletion. Verification must not create unreasonable friction.
5. Pre-Deletion Notice
Before final confirmation, we will explain material effects on active eSIMs, order history, QR/installation information, unresolved refunds/support cases and account-management functions. Users should save any still-needed order or installation evidence before deletion.
6. Data Deleted
After deletion is complete, we delete, anonymize or de-identify account profile data, login configuration, marketing preferences and non-essential usage data for which no other lawful retention basis remains. The actual processing state must match the user-facing status, and the app must not display “deleted” while the account remains active.
7. Data Retained
Order, transaction, refund, tax, accounting, anti-fraud, security-log, dispute and legal-claim records are retained only where reasonably or legally necessary and only for the relevant retention purpose, not for general marketing.
8. Effects on eSIM and Orders
Deleting an account does not necessarily immediately disable an eSIM already installed on a device, but the user may lose access to order history, QR/installation information or account-management functions. If deletion materially affects an active eSIM, the confirmation screen should clearly disclose that before final deletion.
9. Third-Party Processors
Where data has been transferred to processors for service delivery, we will issue appropriate deletion, restriction or marketing-suppression instructions to the extent contractually and legally available. Third parties may independently retain settlement, fraud-prevention or legally required records.
10. Timing
We process requests within the periods required by applicable law. Where GDPR/UK GDPR applies, data-rights requests are generally handled within the statutory one-month period, subject to permitted extension and notice for complex or multiple requests. Where CCPA applies, relevant delete/correct/know requests are generally handled within 45 calendar days, subject to a legally permitted extension and notice. Other jurisdictions follow their mandatory timelines.
11. Completion
An account is DELETED only after the process is actually complete. We may provide confirmation through the website or registered email. Where some data must legally remain, processing is restricted to necessary storage, security and legal-obligation purposes.
